Many publishers assign Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to their journal articles.
A DOI is usually a string of numbers & letters, starting with 10.
Examples of DOIs
10.1108/13632540810854217
10.1108/13563280710744847
A DOI can be used to create a permanent link to an article.
To create a permanent link to an article with a DOI:
1. In the article's abstract, identify the DOI.
2. Copy the DOI number only (do not include the 'DOI:' prefix)
3. Paste this link into your document or Blackboard page
If it is not already present, add the following string to the beginning of the DOI:
http://dx.doi.org.ipacez.nd.edu.au/
This adds the necessary coding required for students to gain authenticated access to the article.
For example:
The permanent link for this article would be:
http://dx.doi.org.ipacez.nd.edu.au/10.1108/02621711011059130
http://dx.doi.org/DOI string
