is a non-profit organization providing a persistent digital identifier (an ORCID iD) that distinguishes you from other researchers and a record that supports automatic links among all your professional activities. An ORCID is required by many journals and research foundations. Ben-Gurion University has an Institutional ORCID that allows a link between the researcher and his institutional affiliation.
To link an existing ORDCID number to BGU institutional affiliation or register for a new ORCID.

1. Enter your name and password (organizational) and id number for identification.
2. * To create an ORCID profile, if you don't have one at all press Create a new ORCID ID
* if you have an ORCID ID and would like to connect to to BGU ORCID please press Connect your existing ORCID ID
3. After creating a new profile of logging into an existing account, you will be asked to confirm the association of your account with Ben-Gurion University. The association will allow the university to receive your ORCID number and update your profile automatically and one time with basic university information (Department and start date of work at the university).

Your ORCID iD number is always publicly visible, however you can control the visibility settings for all other content (affiliations, research activities, awards and more) in your ORCID record.
There are three visibility settings:
Everyone - Information marked as everyone can be viewed by anyone.
Trusted parties - Limited-access information that can be seen by any trusted parties whom you have granted access to your ORCID record.
Only me - Private information can only be seen by you and trusted individuals you have granted access to help administer your ORCID record on your behalf.
