Journal Impact Factor
Journal Impact Factor (JIF) is an index that allow to compare journals using citation data. The IF identifies the frequency with which an average article from a journal is cited in a particular year. The numerator looks at citations in a particular year to a journal's previous two years of content.
For example:
IF 2019 = Citation in 2019 ti items published in 2017+2018 Number of citable items in 2017+2018
The data of the IF is based on the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) database, a sourced from Web of Science (WOS) database. JCR enables you to identify journals with high impact factors, understand the ranking of journals within a subject category.

Journal Quartiles (Q)
A journal's quartile ranking is determined by comparing a journal to others in its category. The categories are ranked by number of journals available in each category, If a journal falls in Q1, it means that the journal performs better than at least 75% of journals in that category, based on its Impact factor score.
